Best Flight Simulator Software - What Works For You Might Not Work For Me

Any hobby that you start out takes time to master at first and flight sim games are no different. They take time to learn and unless you are a pilot, you might take a while to get your baby off the ground. The best flight simulator for you might not be the best for me just as long as you have all the components that you are wanting in the software.

Its best to start off reading flight simulator reviews. You will most likely find a lot of Microsoft flight sim reviews since it is a brand name and well established. They have an almost endless variety of games and you could spend hours sifting through their sites and watch a couple of online demo's. What I noticed there is that usually you would have to buy separate games if you want variety so those costs would add up if you keep buying the smaller and cheaper games.

While Microsoft does have great customer support and realistic simulation scenery, there is other stuff on the market thats equally competitive if not better. So it's just a matter of taking the time to sift through the sites and get what you are looking for.

But what are you looking for and how would you know if what you bought was going to be the best flight simulator?

Well, firstly, the software should provide you with the most realistic and thrilling experience, as if you were actually flying the aircraft.

You should be able to choose the type of plane you want and if there are helicopter flight simulators included in the package then go for that too. Some games only have combat flight sims and if that's all you are looking for then that should do it.

I on the other hand, am not trying to master one particular type of plane, but rather a variety. That way I can stretch the game out and it stays exciting and challenging all the time.

Also make sure there are a good number of missions to try out. This means more entertainment and time spent without having to buy any extra's.

If it were me choosing the flight simulator download, I would say go for anything that is fully customizable and all inclusive.

What do i mean by that?

When you buy the game, make sure you will have everything in it that you need to start playing and enjoy the game. That includes no hidden agenda add ons that you will have to buy later. Yes, there might be upgrades and additional packs - in fact all software out there has those options. I have bought some of them, but as long as the starter download pack has what I need to start playing, I am usually happy with that until I get bored.

A fully customizable flight simulator would mean that you can set your own weather conditions, wind direction, time of day, country and aircraft.

If you are able to change these factors, you can create realistic environmental situations and experience what it's like to fly in a wide range of conditions. I mean whats the point of flying in sunny, windless conditions all day???

Choosing the best flight simulator is very much a personal choice, just like it would be to choose my own PC. There are certain basic aspects that are a must, and then the extra's are largely dependent on you.

I am a games freak and have my own pc online flight simulator and it's been one game that I have never regretted buying.

Remember to read the fine print and even contact the sales department to see how quick they get back to you, if you are concerned about software support.
